These pretty old pictures of Campoamor are mostly half a century old. They are amazing.
It is incredible what a photo is able to transmit… and how many questions it arises… What kind of people are these? We can suppose that it was a very special day for them, a trip to the beach, and why not… with suit and tie!
Who knows… probably none of them has never ever seen the Sea?
Perhaps a family excursion? Maybe a family father with his wife and children, grandchildren and other relatives or friends?

reforms in the supermarket
Last winter the supermarket DIA in Campoamor has been refurbished and the people welcomed this change with enthusiasm now over the Easter Holidays.
Most of the clients like the new change and especially the competitive DIA prices which are offered on the ground floor while you can find more special products and wines&liquors on the first floor.
“It is like a new supermarket here in Campoamor”, as one of the clients mentioned by leaving.

The European Weather forecast announced the highest temperatures in all Europe over Christmas and New Year for our coast side here in the Alicante region. Since one week we are enjoying temperatures of 22 degrees with a deep blue sky and a calm sea. Just beautiful…
The macro-economic dates of international tourism in Spain confirmed that this year is the second best year in the history after the season of 2007. This year the foreign tourists have left a total amount of 55800 million euros in Spain which represents a rise of more than a 6,3% regarding 2011. Another important detail is that we have outranged the figure of 58 million visitors (+3,6%). For the main part these foreign tourists are coming from Great Britain, then from Germany, France, Scandinavia and Russia. Especially in the area ofOrihuela Costa and particularly in Campoamor the British people are the most constant. According to the official data these favorable dates draw a comparison with the drop of national tourism which involves an 11% less than the previous season (concerning the per capita spending), being 2011 already a bad year. Without any doubt the economic situation has made that many of them, with much regret, are spending their holidays at home. The autonomous regions which received most foreign visitors are Madrid and Catalonia, the Valencia region and Andalusia. The last two remained constant compared to the preceding year but with upward trend.
The last rain in Campoamor was beneficial in comparison to Lorca and Almeria, where the torrential rains have overflown and devastated large areas, here in Campoamor we had some quiet rainy days.
In Campoamor the storm has left about 24 litres per square meter without any notable incidents. At least all the gardens and mountains in the surroundings have been watered. This was very necessary after the hard and hot summer.
So this last rain in Campoamor is resulting beneficial.
The sun has come out again in Campoamor and we are enjoying some very pleasant days with a clean and breathable air and fabulous temperatures.

Una espectacular tromba de agua, que dejó 117 litros por metro cuadrado en apenas tres horas -de las 13.30 horas a las 16.30- provocó ayer en el municipio de San Pedro del Pinatar, a tan solo 10km. de Campoamor, numerosos problemas de tráfico e incluso obligó a Protección Civil a efectuar un centenar de salidas para achicar agua de bajos y cocheras e incluso rescatar de sus coches varados a una veintena de personas, la mayoría padres que se dirigían a recoger a sus hijos del colegio. El centro comercial Dos Mares inundado y es que como dicen los viejos del lugar cuando el agua reclama sus escrituras ya puede ponerse la mejor edificacion que al final el agua pasa por derecho.
Aunque el epicentro fue san Pedro del Pinatar, en la zona cayeron 95 litros en San Javier, 82 en Pilar de la Horadada, unos 60 en Campoamor y 33 litros en Torrevieja.
El destrozo en Campoamor, fue basicamente en la playa de la Glea, la rambla bajaba con gran intensidad, arrastrando rastrojos, ramas e incluso arboles enteros.
